Sexual Differences: Males have a wider and longer head and odontodes on the back of the body, behind the gill covers and on the pectoral fin spines. The last two are much shorter in females.

A kind of variable appearance, where body lines may be thinner or thicker in different individuals. Similar to L066, but more yellow in body color, less elongated and higher in body shape.

Hypancistrus sp.

It has recently been established that Hypancistrus sp. L333 and Hypancistrus sp. L066 are the same species and, if kept together in the same tank, there is a great possibility of crossing between them, as they are variants with differently marked phenotypes of the same species.

If kept in clear water, this fish exhibits a dark brown or black body with white lines.

The variation L066 is distinguished by presenting the base of the body of white color and the black lines in the superior part

Seen from above, the female looks much wider than the male.
