The canarana, also called scrub or white cane is a perennial herbaceous plant, which originated in South America.
Its branches are long, slightly twisted and somewhat branched.
The leaves are spiral of dark green very bright, having central ribs on the underside lighter.
The inflorescences are terminal, and bracts of red or green. The flowers may be pink, white or red.
This plant is reproduced by cuttings or division of clumps.
This vegetable is grown for medicinal or ornamental.
In the gardens are planted, usually in rows along walls or divisions, but must be grown in dappled shade or full sun in moist soil rich in organic matter.
